Rob FreemantleDirector of Operations & General Manager
Rob is responsible for the day to day running of Cardiff Marine Group and works closely with the principal Directors with their ongoing development plans across the Group. He has a wealth of experience in the marine trade making him invaluable to the company and our customers. His experience includes being coxswain of a Bristol Channel pilot cutter, running his own sailing school for 17 years, being a competitive offshore racer and being the former Harbour Master of Cardiff Bay. He is currently a highly regarded RYA Yachtmaster Examiner for both power and sail boats.
Dave FreemantleComposites and Technical Repairs Manager
Dave joined the company in September 2010 to head up a specialist composites and technical repairs section of our Marine Service Centre. He has vast in-depth knowledge of this specialist area having a degree in yacht manufacturing and surveying and having run a successful composite and paint company for 5 years. In addition to the composite and technical repairs Dave oversees other specialist elements of boat maintenance including Hot Vac Osmosis treatments and Awlgrip paint application. Dave comes from a strong boating background and is a successful sailor who continues to race professionally.
Gareth DaviesEngineering Manager (Cardiff)
Gareth has been with the company for several years. As an experienced diesel fitter he is our chief engineer heading up our expanding engine section. Gareth has a vast knowledge of all types of vessel.
Darren HayesSenior Marine Technician & Engineer
Darren joined the company in September 2010 and brings with him a wealth of experience. He has worked in the construction trade for over 25 years and has successfully applied his skills to the marine trade having helped build floating offices and now carrying out maintenance and repair work on boats.
Simon ThomasMarine Technician & Engineer
Simon is our longest serving member of staff. He is a keen sailor with a wealth of experience in all areas of the marine industry and is responsible for general boat maintenance and osmosis treatments. He is a RYA dinghy instructor and a qualified RYA Yachtmaster.
Jason WhithamMarine Technician & Engineer
Jason has been with the company for a number of years. He is our resident carpenter and his craftsmanship skills ensure a high standard is maintained on all boat maintenance jobs.
Marc Antoine PincemyMarine Technician & Engineer
Originally from France, Marc Antoine joined the company in 2010 with a strong knowledge of boat building and maintenance having worked for leading boat manufacturer Jeanneau for 7 years as a carpenter.
Alex Jones Engineering Apprentice
Having joined the company on a work placement scheme, Alex has been taken on as an apprentice engineer to gain an all round understanding of boat maintenance, engineering and repairs.
Liz FreemantleBusiness Services Manager
Liz joined the company in 2007 as our Accounts Manager and her role has developed as the business has grown. She has a wealth of accounting experience in Finance, Lettings and the Hospitality industry. Liz is a very keen sailor, particularly enjoying racing regularly and is also a keen collector of Fossils.
James BarrettAssistant Accountant
James joined the company in October 2011, he assists Liz in ensuring the accounts across the company's businesses are kept up to date, he is responsible for the sales ledger and credit control. The company are sponsoring him to complete his ACCA qualification.
Emma ReesAccounts Assistant
Emma joined the company in February 2011 to front the reception at Cardiff Marine Village and to assist in the accounts department.
Alison GregoryMarketing Executive
Ali joined the company in April 2008 and is responsible for marketing and PR across the Group’s businesses. She has a Masters in International Public Relations from Cardiff University and is rapidly developing her knowledge of the boating world. The company sponsored her to complete the Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Diploma.
Tim JamesVolvo Penta Sales & Parts Manager
Tim manages CMG Power and is responsible for overseeing the existing Volvo Penta client base and developing new business for parts and service in the Marine leisure, Marine commercial and Industrial engine sector.
Dale JonesVolvo Penta Parts Fulfilment
Dale joined the company in October 2009 and brings with him a sound knowledge of Volvo Penta parts sales and distribution knowing only too well the importance of competitive prices and speedy deliveries demanded by the industry.
